Let’s Go Bark-or-Treating With a New Best Friend!

October 31, 2024

Gus, Gaia, and Ursula

Adopt a Shelter Dog Month is coming to a close, and there’s no better way to cap it off than with an adorable Halloween party! Our team at the Adoption Center got into the spooky season spirit by holding a costume contest for their adorable dogs. It was a tie across the board, they’re all as cute as can be!

If you’d like to join us in the festivities, these dogs are all available for adoption in New York City! You can learn more about adopting these loving pups and many others by checking out their profiles. Happy Halloween!

Gus

Gus

Looking sharp in orange, Gus is ready to show off his bravery at a haunted house! He’s a social boy who loves to meet people and make new friends. He is always excited to go for a walk, and he enjoys settling down afterwards with an engaging puzzle toy. He also loves playing with other dogs who match his super playful energy! If you’d like to learn more about our goofy Gus, visit his profile!

Gaia

Gaia

That’s no bat – it’s Gaia! This gorgeous girl is always ready to play with her favorite people. She wiggles happily when greeting a friend, and belly rubs are much appreciated! She is just a wonderful, good-natured pup who is full of life. Gaia is looking for a home where she can keep both her body and mind active! Visit her profile to submit an application!

Ursula

Ursula

Ursula doesn’t always want to dress up as a sea witch – sometimes a pretty dress is best! This one says “Sweet as Candy” and we couldn’t agree more! This lady is full of joy and wiggles, and she will always bring a smile to your face. She loves to stay busy with play and exercise, and she loves rest and relaxation just as much. Check out Ursula’s profile to find out more about her!

If you aren’t able to adopt in the tri-state area, but you would still like to find a Halloween buddy, there are other adoptable furry friends at our locations in Weaverville, North Carolina, Los Angeles and Columbus, Ohio! You can also check out your local shelter or visit our friends at Animal Care Centers of NYC!

If adoption isn’t the right choice yet, but you could temporarily care for an animal, you can still make an important impact for dogs and cats in need by becoming a foster caregiver! You can foster for the ASPCA in Columbus, Ohio, Weaverville, North Carolina, New York City and Los Angeles (cat fosters only).
