NORTH CAROLINA: These Fluffy Pups Need Fosters While They Recover from Surgery!
If you are able to foster a large-breed dog, and live in the Asheville, North Carolina area, these two amazing dogs need your help!
Ollivander and Charon are Caucasian Shepherds who came to us from a cruelty situation where they lived with many other large dogs. They are scheduled for total hip surgeries in the coming months, which will require a period of rest and recovery afterwards. It would be amazing for each of them to find a foster home to settle into ahead of their surgeries, so that their recoveries are a little bit easier in an already comfortable space. Could you possibly help one of these sweet pups?
You can apply to become a foster for the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center by following the instructions on this page. Both Ollivander and Charon are already available for adoption as well, so if you fall in love with one of them and you’re ready to adopt, we will still cover the cost of this crucial surgery. If you’re interested in providing either of them with a loving home, please do not hesitate to visit their profiles and submit an application!
See more about them below!
Ollivander
Our guy Ollivander can’t wait to meet you! He’s a bit shy with new people, but once he gets to know you, he’ll be your buddy for life. He’s a food lover, so it helps to use his appetite to improve his confidence! He loves puzzle feeders where he has to think things through, and yummy treats help with learning new skills, too. He also enjoys watching the world go by from the porch and is also content in his crate. Check out his profile to learn more about this special boy!
Charon
Charon is a lovely lady who is all about showing you affection and asking for head scratches in return. Her favorite way to spend the day is at your side, getting lots of pets! She does get a little anxious getting into and out of cars, so it may take her some time to get used to your car. With some patience, you’ll have a wonderful, cuddle bug living her best life in your home! Learn all about sweet Charon by visiting her profile!
If you don’t live in North Carolina, but you would like to make a difference for animals in need, you can become a foster caregiver at other ASPCA programs as well. You can apply in New York City, Los Angeles County and Columbus, Ohio.
Not in one of these areas? Find a shelter near you and ask their staff what they need most! Every community is different, and there are many ways that you may be able to help.
