You make our achievements possible and as we reflect on our history, we remind ourselves of recent events that show how far we have come.

The ASPCA and the NC State University Libraries announced the completion of a three-year, grant-funded project to digitize the ASPCA Historical Archive – a curated collection of more than 150,000 pages of archival material, including annual reports, journals, scrapbooks, photos, and publications that provide a timeline of the work and influence of the ASPCA since its founding on April 10, 1866.

As a leader in animal relocation, the ASPCA was proud to celebrate transporting our 200,000th animal for a greater chance at finding a loving home. Noah boarded a flight from Alabama to Massachusetts where the one-year-old dog hopes to find a new family to match his friendly and energetic personality.

Four Millionth Case for the APCC

The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center serves as a critical resource for pet parents and veterinarians. Answering calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, they recently reached an incredible milestone—their four millionth case of potential toxicity! In 2021, the APCC assisted over 400,000 animals—thank you for helping to support this lifesaving program.  

Provided over $180 million in Grant Funding

As a national leader in animal welfare, we provide financial support to organizations across the country through cash grants, sponsorships, executive and technical assistance, and training. Since 2001, we have given over $180 million in grants to animal welfare organizations in all 50 states and territories.

100,000th Spay/Neuter in Los Angeles

In 2014, we announced a $25 million commitment to assist pets and pet parents in L.A., and since then, we’ve been providing hands-on work to support animals through a variety of vital initiatives, including free and low-cost spay/neuter services. In October 2021, we achieved the significant milestone of 100,000 spay/neuter surgeries! 

Miami CVC’s 2-year Anniversary

The ASPCA opened a new Community Veterinary Center in Liberty City, Florida, in partnership with Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS) and Miami-Dade County at the end of 2019. For more than two years, we have provided affordable and accessible veterinary services to companion animals in the underserved community. This facility has been a critical resource for the health and welfare of beloved pets, even when the pandemic limited normal operations.
