This young German Shepherd-mix came into our care last year from a very tough situation. Lafayette was rescued along with more than 40 other dogs from overcrowded and unsanitary living conditions. Despite his past, he has made great strides with us and is ready to find a home of his own!

Lafayette is a handsome guy who turns heads everywhere he goes. He is quite smart, eager to please and full of potential! He enjoys working on his training, and already knows a few commands, like “sit” and “paw.” He might even offer his paw unprompted, just to seek out your attention and love! He also loves to stay active with interactive games like fetch and tug.

Lafayette’s ideal adopter would have experience with German Shepherd-type breeds or with dog training who will help him become his best doggy self. He will also thrive in a more suburban area where he can enjoy some well-deserved peace and quiet. His dream would be to have a private outdoor space all to himself!
