Duchess

Say hello to Duchess, a pint-sized princess with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This little lady loves people and will let you know when she’s ready for attention. She’ll hop right into your lap, lean in for cuddles and even nudge your hand with her tiny snoot to remind you that pets are absolutely required.

Duchess is a playful, curious and oh-so-clever girl! She loves a good game of fetch, tossing her toys in the air to catch them herself if no one’s around to play. She knows “sit,” “speak” and “drop it,” and she learns new tricks in no time. This smart cookie would make an amazing trick or agility partner!

In her most recent foster home, Duchess showed off just how wonderful she can be in a home setting. She was potty trained, loved snuggling in bed and enjoyed every moment outside. Whether it was running around during bonfires, going on long walks, joining hikes or tagging along for adventures, Duchess was thrilled to be part of the fun. She’s a fantastic companion for an active, outdoorsy family.

When it comes to other pets, Duchess prefers to be the star of the show. While in our care, she has had positive experiences with calm dogs in playgroups, but based on her foster experience, she’d thrive best as the only pet in the home, soaking up all the love and attention for herself.

Duchess walks beautifully on leash and loves exploring the world by your side. She can be a little nervous when her harness goes on, so she’s been learning that the “reach” cue means it’s time for something fun. With some treats and patience, she’s getting more confident every day!
