Fern

Fern’s favorite place is wherever you are, especially if there are cuddles involved!
If you’ve ever dreamed of a dog who greets you like a superstar, Fern is your girl. Her signature move is a dramatic belly flop the moment she sees her favorite people — belly rubs aren’t just a treat, they’re everything!
Fern’s journey makes her extra special. She came to the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center as a fearful stray, unsure of the world around her. With time, patience and kindness, she has blossomed into a loving, playful pup who is ready for her next chapter. She still takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once you’re in her circle, you’re in for life.
Fern is equal parts cozy companion and playful adventurer. She loves curling up on the couch for snuggles, going on car trips and playing with squeaky toys — bonus points if they explode into fluff! When it’s time for fun, Fern is all in. She will chase, tug and wrestle with her dog friends like a pro, then happily settle down for a nap. She especially enjoys hanging out with calmer dogs who match her easygoing vibe.
In foster care, Fern showed off her smarts. She learned routines quickly, had great house manners and even picked up cues like “outside” and “ready to eat.” She is crate trained, loves exploring quiet trails and thrives in a home where life feels calm but still has room for play.
Fern is looking for someone who loves belly rubs as much as she does and enjoys a mix of adventure and downtime. She is a loyal friend who will make every day brighter, flop for love and fill your life with joy! If you’re ready to meet Fern, click the “Submit an Adoption Inquiry” button below!
